Spellpatch - My own trading card game

Most card games ask you to play the cards you’re dealt. Spellpatch lets you rewrite them.

It’s a TCG where you can alter the magical essence of your creatures and spells, changing what they do on the fly. Half the game is your deck, the other half is how you patch it together.

Role · Creator: game design, illustration, 3D sculpting and card design

Scope · Floral and Insect prototype starter decks, from five planned factions

Tools · Nomad Sculpt, Procreate

Status · In development, 2026

Selected card designs

The frames I designed for the game, with the art sitting where it belongs.

I design the card frames as well as the art. Standard cards share one frame with the faction emblem at the base, and patrons get a full ornate frame of their own. Doing both means I always know how much of an illustration will survive the frame, and where the focal point needs to sit.
